Woodstock was founded by Douglas Collett, whose passion for wine began while flying Spitfires with the RAF in Italy during WWII. Over shared bottles, he vowed that if he made it home, he would one day make wines to enjoy with family and friends. In 1973, Doug purchased a small McLaren Vale property called Woodstock, complete with an 1860s cottage, rundown vineyards, and fruit trees. Over the past 50 years, three generations of the Collett family have restored the estate and continued Doug’s vision. Today, Woodstock is celebrated for its old-vine Shiraz and Grenache.
With sustainably managed vineyards, hands-on winemaking, and a balance of tradition and innovation, the wines reflect the unique terroir of McLaren Vale. Beyond the vineyard, Woodstock has become a true destination, including a wildlife sanctuary, cellar door, and family friendly lawns, that bring people together over food, wine, and great company.
